Tori smiled a little “I believe he’s still in the waiting room with Michael. Those two get on pretty good but I have a sneaking suspicion that Mikey lets him get away with a little more than I do.” She said as she tried to sit a little more comfortably on the bed. It made her uneasy to think her movement might be causing him a little pain, what with his broken ribs and all.
Astoria thought about his statement for a moment. It was getting late, way past the normal time she puts him to bed. But it was important to her that Caleb met his father and there wasn’t any real reason to put it off till tomorrow. Caleb was there in the hospital, unless Michael had taken it upon himself to take him to her father’s but Tori highly doubted that. After a moment she gave him a slight nod.
“Okay. I can go see if they’re still in the waiting room. It’ll be easier than trying to get Michael to bring him back and plus, I think I’ve intimidated all the staff around here.” She said with a smile. She had learned over the past few years of being a mom that sometimes she tended to get a little out of hand. Well, a lot out of hand actually. She’s always had a bit of a temper. 231 WORDS FOR JACOB H. ROSWELL | CITY OF ANGELS LYRICS BY 30 SECONDS TO MARS | TEMPLATE BY MERCY

Jacob laid his head back, staring up at the ceiling. It was of some comfort to know that his brother had been there for Tori and... well, Caleb. Still, the responsibility shouldn't have been placed on Mikey's shoulders. Michael was too young to be a father. Not to mention their mother was in need of care, at least she had been when Jake left. The thought of what he did to his brother haunted him.
Jake still smiled when she said this last bit. "You certainly intimidated me," he said. Before she could get up and leave him though, he placed his hand over hers, his brows knitting together, as if what he was going to say was difficult. He wanted to tell her what had happened, that Steven was after her and she was in danger. He knew it was the right thing to do, she had the right to know. And yet, he couldn't because, suddenly, she wasn't the only one in the equation. She had Caleb and, once Steven found out that Jake had a son, he would be in danger too. Jacob just couldn't let her worry like that. Above all else, he wanted her and their son to feel safe. Jake would just have to take Steven down before he could cause any more damage.
When those words wouldn't come out, something else did and, while it wasn't what he had first intended to say, that didn't make it any less true. "I'm sorry." The look in his eyes was a sincere one. She shouldn't have had to go through it all alone. 285 WORDS FOR ASTORIA J. REESE | RADIOACTIVE LYRICS BY IMAGINE DRAGONS | TEMPLATE BY MERCY

Tori smiled softly at him and gave his hand a tight squeeze. “Worry about apologizing later, maybe you can do it not laying broken in a hospital bed.” She said with a tiny wink before adding “Let me go get our son so you can meet the little devil finally.” She had to admit she loved the sound of the words ‘our son’. It was amazing that she could actually say them to him. Tor sat there for a moment longer before standing and heading towards the door.
Amazingly she found her way back to the waiting room, she wouldn't admit it to any normal person but her nose helped her a little. Once she got there she glanced around the room for a moment before she spotted Michael. Quietly Astoria made her way to him, silently hoping that Caleb hadn't fallen asleep yet. She hated to wake him but unfortunately she wasn't so lucky. Looking at Michael she said “I’m here to relieve you. Jacob wants to see the little guy and though I’d hate to wake him up but I think this is something that needs to happen sooner rather than later.” She didn't really wait for a response from Mikey before she carefully picked her sleeping son up into her arms and said to Michael “you should probably head home and get some sleep, I can call my dad to come pick us up later.”
She didn't wait to hear his response before making her way back to Jacob’s room. None of the nurses stopped her, though a few gave her dirty looks, which she gladly returned. Almost to Jake’s room Caleb started to stir in her arms. “Hey sleepy head, I've got a surprise for you.” Tori said with a smile just as she made it to Jakes room. Before saying anything else she opened the door and walked in.
