FORUM
rules
We know these may seem long, but they are important, so please read them and feel free to ask questions!
ONE. This pretty much goes without saying, but treat all members and guests with respect. If you have any problems, feel free to contact a staff member, we're always here to help.
TWO. All members must have an OOC account. The user and display name of your OOC account should be whatever you want to go by on the forum.
THREE. You must have an application up within three days of registering a new character account. Failure to do so will result in the deletion of said account. If there's anything that will prevent you from posting an application within this time frame, please contact the staff. Depending upon situations, there will be exceptions to this rule. For instance, if you are online and working on the character at that moment, we're obviously no going to just delete all of your stuff. If we feel that you have a good deal of your character's about section done in his or her profile, we may save this section, should you choose to re-register this character. You can find out more about the application process HERE. We will PM you the day before the account is deleted.
FOUR. Once your character has been accepted, you must have an in character post up with them within one week. This can be a reply to someone else's thread or a new thread, we don't mind either way.
FIVE. Playbys are required for all characters and are required to be RL, celebrity or model playbys. Social media models (from sites like DeviantArt) will not be accepted.
SIX. Your character's age should be within eight years of your face claim's actual age. Exceptions can be made, at the discretion of a staff member, if a playby looks exceptionally younger or older. For species that do not age, such as vampires, they must have been changed at an age within eight years of the playbys age.
SEVEN. You must claim your playby after being accepted. If someone comes along and claims your playby before you, you'll have to choose another. If you plan on using a playby, be safe and reserve them before hand!
EIGHT. Because of our large icon sizes, signatures are disabled. Icons are required for all character accounts and must be of your character's playby. Icons MUST be 250px in width and 350px in height. IMPORTANT: Please do not upload your icons directly to the forum. All icons should be linked to instead.
NINE. Your icons for OOC accounts can be whatever you want, so long as they are appropriate and meet the size requirements. Once again, please link to your icons rather than upload them.
TEN. If you plan on being gone for a while, please post in the leave of absence board. If there's an activity check while you are away, your accounts will be safe, assuming you left us with a list of all your characters. Please be aware that, if you are away for a significantly longer time than you stated, then your characters may be retired. If you're going to be away for a longer time than you originally intended, try to let us know.
ELEVEN. An activity check will be held on the first day of every month. The activity check is quick and painless. Members have until the seventh to respond to the check. Failure to respond will result in your characters being retired. If we notice that you haven't posted in the check, but you are indeed active, we will try to remind you, but keep in mind that we might not even notice.
TWELVE. Only characters who have been completed will be moved to an inactive member group, if they are found to be inactive. Unfinished characters will be deleted at the staff member's discretion.
THiRTEEN. If your character is marked as inactive, they will be marked as such and their face claim will be removed. All of the inactive character's threads will be moved into the archives. In the event of your return, should you wish to reinstate your character, please feel free to contact a staff member. You may need to make some updates to your character. Please keep in mind that your playby may have been taken while you were inactive. If this is the case, you will need to find a new one.
FOURTEEN. No advertising in the chatbox.
FIFTEEN. No godmodding.
SIXTEEN. Unless it is discussed with your RP partner, power playing is not allowed.
SEVENTEEN. Bleed you dry is a rapidfire RP forum. In other words, posts should be kept under 500 words, allowing for faster replies. However, there is to be no one liners! A good rule of thumb would be a solid paragraph, at least. Starter posts can be over or under 500 words, it doesn't matter.
EIGHTEEN. Bleed You Dry is rated PG-13. That being said, explicit scenes featuring sexual content are not allowed. You can build up to a scene, but before things get out of hand, we ask that you fade to black.
NINETEEN. Keep the roleplay to the proper boards and out of the chat box.
TWENTY. In order for a character to be considered active, they must have at least one in character post every seven days (not every eight, or nine, or ten). We'd like you aim for more activity than this, but we understand that life gets in the way.
TWENTY-ONE. We don't have a character limit, but we expect you to know how many characters you can handle. In order to make a new character, all of your previous characters must be considered active and you must have at least one active thread with your previously made character.
