Eleanor gave him about a five second head start before she yanked her seatbelt out of the clip and pushed her way out of the passenger door. She wasn’t much the type to listen to orders, especially not when it was her own home that might have been invaded. Not that the detective knew, but Eleanor was very capable of taking care of herself when it came down to it so not much scared her enough to make her back down.
Watching him enter her home cautiously with his gun drawn Eleanor tried to keep all thoughts of how good the man looked with a deadly weapon out of her head and focused on scenting and feeling everything around her. The moment she entered her home she sensed that while the door had been forced open, there was no one inside her home. Elle didn’t feel like telling the detective this however, as he would probably ask her uncomfortable answers about how she knew for sure and she would end up having to lie. Eleanor really didn’t want to lie to Eric.
The fact that no one had actually come into her home and ransacked it, yet forcibly opened her door did strike her as rather odd. While she tried to figure out what it was that was bothering her about it, she kept her ears open for sounds of the detective approaching. She went over the events of the night and while she hated to think that the murder had anything in common with her, the fact that no one had stepped foot into her home that night besides Eric and herself spoke volumes. No Vampire could get into her home uninvited, and the woman at the library had been killed by a vampire, of that Elle was certain.
“Did you find anyone?” Eleanor called somewhat shakily to the detective downstairs, although she knew the answer she figured better to seem a little shaken up, well honestly she wasn’t faking it because she was shaken up, but he didn’t need to know that she knew something more than she was letting on.

Eric heard her come in. Sure, he had the senses of a human, but he'd been trained to use these senses to their full extent. It was clear that there was nobody on the first floor of the house. Though he didn't hear anything upstairs, he couldn't quite rule that out. Heading out to where she was, Eric didn't bother with giving her any angry or dirty looks. He had long ago learned, mostly from his brother, that people weren't always going to listen to your instructions and, unless they didn't any harm, there was no use crying over it. "I thought I told you to wait in the car?" he asked her, in no way, shape, or form angry or annoyed. It was merely a statement that he made in passing, as he headed for the steps.
When he had checked the upstairs, Eric returned to her, slipping his gun back where it belonged, in the holster that went over his shoulder, the straps of which went over his shoulder to keep his weapon concealed when he was wearing his jacket. He merely shook his head at her, having no idea that she was well aware that there was nobody in the house still. Unfortunately though, it appeared that her already long night was far from over. "I'm going to go call this in," he said to her, already pulling out his phone.
Going into the kitchen to make the call in a more private setting, it took Eric only a few minutes. Police were already heading down. They had every reason to believe that the break in was related to the murder. Being a detective, Eric knew that there was no such thing as coincidence. "You alright?" he asked Elle, hanging up his phone and joining her. "I have some guys from the station coming down. Is there anywhere you feel comfortable staying until this is all cleared up?" He didn't exactly expect her to want to stay in a house, in the East Side, with a broken down front door. They could do something temporary to keep people out, maybe set a patrol officer outside of her house, but she would definitely be needing a new door the next day.

Eleanor Eleanor listened as he came back up the stairs then shrugged at his comment “I’m capable of taking care of myself most of the time.” She replied pulling out a taser from her purse. She hadn’t always had one but found that pepper spray wasn’t always reliable and could come back at you if a breeze hit just right. “And plus, this is my home even if everything weren’t a total disaster only I would know if anyone had come, you don’t know the exact places certain things are supposed to be in.” She added.
With that being said she walked through her home quickly while Eric went into her kitchen to make his phone call. And while she didn’t really want to lose any of her possessions the fact that everything was accounted for made everything just a little more eerie. There was only one explanation and although the detective didn’t know it, it was quite a dangerous road he was traveling. Eleanor still had no clue why a vampire would be targeting her or whatever but it was rather creepy.
She pulled herself out of her thoughts as the detective walked back over to her. “Yeah, I’m as alright as one can be when you find a murder victim and then find out your house was broken into.” Elle replied quietly. She would stick with “broken into” for the time being. “Uhm, well no not anyone that lives in the city, I’d say I could check into a hotel but I don’t really feel like that is a safe idea. I’m rather kind of creeped out by the whole thing now that it’s starting to sink in…” she replied to his next question. She wasn’t lying she was rather freaked, but staying in a hotel wouldn’t offer her protection like a house or an apartment would.

Eric wasn't entirely surprised to see her taser. They were, after all, living in the city and plenty carried around such weapons of self defense. "Are you saying that your door is usually like that?" Eric asked with a raised brow and a devilishly handsome half smile. He realizing afterward that it probably wasn't the best time to be cracking jokes. He was hanging around John too much lately it seemed. Although, she had made googly eyes with him in the middle of a murder investigation (he had certainly noticed) so he supposed they were even. Back in the living room with Eleanor, Eric nodded when she expressed her concerns. "You can go pack a bag, I'll help you figure something out."
Sometime later, they were back in his car. Looking at the clock, it was late, but not horrendously so. He was sure that John would be awake when he made it back to the apartment, if he and Kat were there. One thing led to another and, not wanting Eleanor to worry about her safety too much, they had come to a mutual decision: Eleanor would stay with him, at the very least until her front door was fixed the next day. He'd even volunteered to do this himself. Until then, there was someone patrolling her house, the entryway haphazardly boarded up. Pulling into the parking garage of his apartment complex in Center City, Eric parked his car and climbed out, grabbing the Chinese takeout he'd ordered. He had figured that she might be hungry and, even if she wasn't, he was starved and, unsurprisingly, he'd gotten texts from his brother about getting something to eat. "It's just me and my brother in the apartment, but his girlfriend stays over a lot," he said to Elle, opening her door for her. He would have grabbed her bag, but his hands were already full. Leading her to the elevator and up to his floor, it was pretty clear that the apartment complex wasn't too shabby of a place to live. It was one of the nicer buildings, though certainly not as expensive as most of the others. Heading out of the elevator and down the hall, allowing her to walk beside him, Eric unlocked the door, holding it open so that she could step inside his apartment first. Down the hall, he could hear the sound of the TV playing and he hoped to god John wasn't in there watching something that featured the female genitalia... "There's a half bath here," Eric said to Elle, pointing to the door. "And a full bathroom past the living room and kitchen, between the two bedrooms." With another handsome smile in her direction, he led the way down the hall, and rounded the corner into the kitchen, briefly glancing into the living room to see just what his brother and Kat were watching.

The coffee table was littered with books on pregnancy, babies, and a book or two on nightclubs. A friend of his had come to him, asking if he was willing to team up to open up a night club. Surprisingly enough... John was seriously considering taking him up on the offer. Sitting there with Kat, they'd spent most of their night talking about the baby... where they were going to live and all that. The first few months of his girlfriend's pregnancy had already flown by. On the television, a documentary on labor and giving birth was playing. It just so happened that Eric decided to come home in the middle of a woman screaming and pushing out a baby, on the TV. "OH MY GOD," John said, both fascinated and sickened by what he was seeing. Setting down the book he had been flipping through, he leaned forward and paid closer attention. "Are you watching this?" he asked Kat, glancing over at her before looking back at the movie. His face went from sickened to horrified as he watched. "Yo," he said, hearing Eric come in and head into the kitchen. Glancing over only to see that Eric wasn't alone, John grabbed the remote and turned off the television. Nudging Kat, he inclined his head toward the chick with Eric, when she wasn't looking, of course. "Hey," he said, straightening up the coffee table a little and offering the woman a handsome smile, ridiculously similar to his older brother's. Getting up and walking over, he offered the woman his hand to shake. "I'm John, Eric's smarter, more charming, and handsome younger brother."OUTFIT (minus the jacket)

Kat was snuggled into the couch with her legs up beside her as she leaned against the arm of the chair watching the tv with almost rapt attention. It was horrifying to think that in a few months that would be her pushing and screaming like she was about to die. It made her nether regions hurt just thinking about it. She grimaced as she watched the poor woman on the screen and in the back of her mind she wondered if the woman had been smart enough to get on the epidural or if she was stupid and having a natural childbirth. Kat was definitely going to get the damn epidural no way in hell was she doing it natural, not after watching this movie.
Kat’s eyes were practically glued to the television until John shut it off, she was about to ask him why he’d turned it off when he brought her attention to the woman standing beside Eric. Katerina gave her an assessing look while her attention was still on the apartment and Eric and found her to be pretty, in that modern society look that Kat couldn’t deny she had as well and from the look of it she was completely into Eric.
Standing slowly she followed her boyfriend over and stood behind him as he introduced himself. She couldn’t help but smile at his words and said “Yes but you are also taken so stop flirting.” She teased him. She wasn’t that clingy type that had to be all over her man whenever they were around other people… women like that bugged her to no end. Sticking her hand out to the woman after she had shook John’s hand “I’m Katerina, John’s girlfriend.” She said in a friendly manner. Kat loved meeting new people most of the time and loved making new friends and she had a feeling this woman could become one of them.
